So, you dabble in a little gravel and a little road and you want to keep your options open. The The 2022 Santa Cruz Stigmata CC – GRX is just for you then. with a 2x GRX build and 700c wheels you will get the larger gear range and versatility you are looking for. For 2022 there is a refresh in color options with a Lavender or Brut. The Shimano GRX 2x Stigmata rig will be at home on pretty much anything you throw at it from long road rides to single track trails.
The stigmata features internally routed disc brakes, generous tire clearance, and thru axles that make their originally cross oriented bike more well-rounded. This newest iteration of the Stigmata and Quincy uses a significantly revised carbon layup based off of the Highball. The Stigmata is geared toward strength rather than being the lightest bike on the block, yet sill comes in at a respectable weight.
A bit more versatility was built into the bike this time around. As its come out to be a gravel bike instead of a cross bike that wants to do more, the Stigmata now features three bottle cage mounts plus a frame bag mount on the top tube, fender mounts to keep tire spray off of you and your friends, and massive tire clearance – up to a 700 x 45c or 27.5 x 2.1” MTB kind of clearance.
Other requisite “gravelification” changes include revised geometry, more bottom bracket drop for greater stability through imperfect surfaces, ~10 mm more stack across all sizes, and internal cable routing for a dropper seatpost. This makes the new Stigmata and Quincy ready to be what you want, where you want it.
